For the 2nd time the Festival is being announced officially during the ceremonial foot and cavalry guards mount of the President’s regiment of the Moscow Kremlin commandant's office of the Russian Federal Protection Service. This can be explained by the fact that performance of just that very unit accompanied by the President’s Band is an indispensable part of the Festival, the particular symbol of Russia. The grand ceremony combined with masterly technical skills of arms drill proves that great historical traditions stated by the Peter the Great’s “Military regulation” of 1716 are being continued. Modern way of the ceremonial foot and cavalry guards mount was worked out with the assistance of the commandant of the Moscow Kremlin, members of the President’s regiment and officers of the Presidential Protocol in agreement with the Russian Presidential Heraldic council.
