One Month Left Until Main Military Musical Event of the Year

Go back

The 10th Anniversary International Military Music Festival Spasskaya Tower, which will give the inhabitants of Moscow and guests of the capital ten nights of an unforgettable show with light installations and grandiose salutes, will be opened exactly in one month, in Moscow in the Red Square.

A colourful and unique for our country festival has been held in the Red Square for 10 years. Over the entire history of the project, more than 150 ensembles from 45 countries from 4 continents took part in it; the performance of legendary and world-famous military musicians was watched by over 500,000,000 spectators.

The bands from Russia, Austria, Armenia, Belorussia, Egypt, India, Kazakhstan, China, Turkey, Switzerland, Italy and Uzbekistan, as well as from the European Union and an international band will come to the paving stone of the country’s main square in the anniversary year. Each participating country prepares a breath-taking musical and theatrical performance. An organic combination of military, classical, folk and pop music, parade defiles of military orchestras and dance shows, laser and pyrotechnic effects — all this makes the Festival one of the most vivid and memorable spectacles.

In addition to the main performances in the Red Square, the spectators and guests of the Festival will enjoy many surprises and an extensive day programme, more than ever. The tradition of exhibition performances by the riders of the Kremlin Equestrian School and the Honour Cavalry Escort of the Presidential Regiment of the Service of the Moscow Kremlin Commandant of the Federal Guard Service of the Russian Federation will be continued.

The Spasskaya Tower for Kids programme, which includes an annual competition of children’s and youth brass bands, a parade of children’s Honour Guards from various regions of Russia, has been further developed. Professional servicemen will tell young military defenders of the motherland about great feats of the Russian commanders, will demonstrate arms drills with short rifles and their being well-versed in sabre; they will give lessons in horse riding and proper horse saddling. Beautiful little ladies will have a possibility to attend classes in batik, origami, painting and music. Also there are quests, competitions and relay races for the whole family in the programme. Admission to all areas will be free every day from 11:00 a.m. till 03:00 p.m., from 06:00 p.m. to 08:00 p.m. — admission by ticket for the Festival.

A charity programme of the Festival Directorate, which allows several thousand people from socially unprotected groups of the population to see a unique military musical show, remains an important component of the project.
