Moscow stations hosted concerts of the International Festival “Spasskaya Tower”

Today, on the 26th of August, Moscow railway stations hosted concerts of foreign music bands, which came to Russia the day before to participate in X International Military Music Festival “Spasskaya Tower”. 

The grand opening of the Festival will take place at 20:00 at the Red Square, while at the daytime musicians performed for a numerous audience of the 5 largest Moscow stations – passengers and the Russian railways staff.

Participants and spectators were welcomed by Oleg Belozyorov, President of the Russian railways and Sergey Smirnov, Head of Festival Administration. Both of them agree that concerts of military orchestras at the stations is a great opportunity to expand the Festival’s boundaries and to give joy to many moscovites and guests of the city. For many visitors of the stations it was a great surprise to hear the live music performed by vibrant military music bands, widely known in their countries and abroad, and who does not like surprises?

Lobby of the Belorussky railway station hosted a concert of a famous band from the European Union - the Celtic Massed Pipes and Drums. The Band of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia brought a positive vibe to the atmosphere of the Yaroslavsky station. The Band of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan performed at the Leningradsky station. Turkish Armed Forces Mehteran Unit demonstrated their musical skills at the Kazansky railway station, and Egyptian Military Symphonic Band performed at the Paveletsky station.
