NOT only girls in jazz

Go back

On August 12 the Muzeon Park of Arts in Krymsky Val in Moscow will host one of the concerts of the Military Bands in Parks series preceding the International Military Music Festival «Spasskaya Tower».

In the Muzeon Park the Massed Band of the Independent Operational Purpose Division named after F. E. Dzerzhinsky of the National Guard Forces Command of the Russian Federation will give a performance for the Moscovites and guests of the city.

The band was founded in the 1920s and has a wide artistic experience. Thus, during the Great Patriotic War its players were recruited to a jazz band, which, being a part of a traveling concert team, was giving performances for the soldiers on the front line and in hospitals.

This day jazz still holds the rightful place in the brass band’s repertoire along with military marches, war songs, waltzes, popular tunes from Soviet films, contemporary pop and rock hits.

In the Muzeon Park the band of the Russian National Guard Forces is going to present a combined program with a focus on jazz items. The military band will play such best-known jazz compositions as «Misty» by Erroll Garner, «Take Five» by Paul Desmond, «The Pink Panther Theme» by Henry Mancini, and others.

In the Muzeon Park of Arts you’ll find spirit-stirring music that will cheer you up! You are welcome!

The concert starts at 17:00!
Free admission!
