Go back

On Sunday, the 27th of August, participants of X International Festival «Spasskaya Tower» paraded along a passageway of the Victory Park in Moscow, and   gave the second concert at the Red Square. 13 thousand spectators enjoyed the performance of the most unique musical and dance groups from Europe, Asia and Africa.

2-hours musical parade at the Victory Park on Sunday gathered more than 5 thousand spectators. 7,5 thousand people visited the second evening concert of the Festival at the Red Square.

The Military Symphonic Orchestra of Egypt is one of the most outstanding debutants of the «Spasskaya Tower» Festival. Their sophisticated costumes of the pharaohs are easy to notice. The music they played was written by Arabic and European composers. The conductor of the Orchestra is Major General Samir Abdel Mohsen. They have also made a special present for the Russian audience by playing the legendary song «Katyusha», which was sung by people at the spectators’ stands all together.

The Combined Military Orchestra of India came for the first time to «Spasskaya Tower» this year. The Orchestra includes musicians of the three military services - the army, the navy and the aviation. The director of the Orchestra is Girish Kumar Unnikrishnan. The band has had successful performances before in Japan, Australia, Sweden, France, Germany, etc. At the Festival in Moscow the Indian military musicians will perform pieces from national hymns, classical Indian and Western musical compositions. Their show ends with «Jimmy Jimmy Aaja» from the movie «Disco Dancer», which used to be incredibly popular in the USSR at the beginning of the 80s. Russia and India have been friends for a very long time, we are collaborating in various areas, celebrating the 70th anniversary of the diplomatic relationships in 2017.
