Established in 2011, the Military Band (of the Moscow garrison) of the 154 Preobrazhensky Regiment is a large professional music ensemble.

As the central military band of Moscow, it takes part in all high-level state official ceremonies and events featuring participation of the Mayor of Moscow and members of the City Government as well as in military parades on Red Square. It successfully represents Russia abroad, taking part in international music festivals and military wind band competitions.

As far as history is concerned, the Military Band of the 154 Preobrazhensky Regiment was established on June 1, 2011 on the basis of the Thirteenth Military Band (of the Military District Headquarters) formed back in 1940 on the basis of the Band of the Sixth Motorized Rifle Regiment. The band had the honor of being part of the historical parade of November 7, 1941 and Victory Parade of June 24, 1945. It also took part in the XXII Summer Olympic Games, the Students and Youth International Festival and celebrations dedicated to the 850th anniversary of Moscow.

In 1995, at the request of the Government of Moscow, the band recorded the Anthem of Moscow.
