The 2022 Spasskaya Tower Festival Will Welcome the Symphonic Military Band from Egypt

This year, the Egyptian Symphonic Military Band will bring to Moscow a brand new program eleborated especially for the fifteenth anniversary run of the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival that will unfold on Moscow’s Red Square from August 26 to September 4.

Formed in 1957, the Egyptian Symphonic Military Band has always featured the country’s best musicians. The ensemble immediately started taking part in different international competitions and festivals, managing to secure a plethora of wins. From 1960 to 1966, the band became six-time winner of the World Military Music Festival in Italy. It also took part in the Edinburgh Military Music Festival in 1995, the Berlin Military Music Festival in 2002, the Bremen Military Music Festival in 2004, and others.

The Egyptian Symphonic Military Band accompanies state official events and national celebrations. Its achievement record includes participation in such grand events as the transportation of the mummies of the pharaohs to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in El Fustat and the opening of the ancient alley of sphinxes in Luxor.

The band has participated in the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival twice, in 2017 and 2019. This year, the Egyptian ensemble will travel to Moscow to show Russian audiences a very special and carefully elaborated program. Although it is still a big secret, musicians have revealed that they will perform Johann Strauss' Russian March in Moscow.

The Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo is famous for its evening shows. In 2022, audiences will be treated to ten spectacular nights of military music and creative ensembles, honor guard units, breathtaking 3D mapping, stunning fireworks, and impressive pyrotechnical effects.
