This year, the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival is celebrating its fifteenth anniversary оn Moscow's Red Square from August 26 to September 4. 

The Spasskaya Tower International Military Tattoo is famous for its evening shows, which embrace military tradition and combine it with exciting new innovations and contemporary touches. In 2022, audiences will be treated to ten spectacular nights of military music, creative ensembles and honor guard units, breathtaking 3D mapping, stunning fireworks, and impressive pyrotechnic effects.

The geographical footprint of the Festival already spans all corners of the globe. Over its 15 years of history, the tattoo welcomed more than 160 artistic groups from 56 countries, became the largest international project in Russia’s cultural life and secured its right to be among the world’s top three military music festivals.

“Every year, the fabulous upscale event links different countries, bringing together artistic teams that perform in a manifold of genres, ranging from military marches to popular and classical music pieces. This splendidly vibrant and colorful celebration both raises the spirits of all wind music fans and brings joy to Muscovites and guests of the capital, presenting them with colorful shows, wonderful music, and unique light and pyrotechnical effects. I am confident that the glorious traditions promoted by the Spasskaya Tower Festival will grow stronger and more prominent with each passing year. The Spasskaya Tower Festival is a unique project in terms of scale, audience, and impressiveness. It is popular among all audience segments. Every year, the stands on Red Square welcome the increased number of guests attending the shows, many as whole families, and coming from all over Russia and abroad.

Guests of the festival receive a powerful charge of energy, the brightest and most joyful impressions, see and feel the incomparable majestic spirit of the Russian people, the victorious image of the Russian Army”, highlighted Mr. Alexander Mikheev, General Director of Rosoboronexport JSC. 

This year’s anniversary run of the Spasskaya Tower Military Tattoo will showcase cultural and music presentations by performers from Armenia, Belarus, Venezuella, India, Egypt, and Thailand. Our guests from Venezuella and Thailand will make their debut on the cobblestones of Moscow’s Red Square. The lead services representing Russia this year will be some of the best military artistic ensembles of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Federal Guard Service, National Guard Forces, Federal Security Service, and Russia’s Emergencies Ministry. Altogether, in 2022 Moscow’s Red Square will welcome over 1500 military musicians and artists from Russia and abroad.

Over the years, Spasskaya Tower Festival has been carrying out its mission, proclaiming peace and cooperation in the language of military music, and introducing national styles of different countries and peoples to the audience”, noted Mr Nikolai Tokarev, President of Transneft company 

Today, August 25, the front entrance hall of the State Historical Museum, the long-standing friend and partner of the Spasskaya Tower Festival, will welcome the Festival’s official press conference, where the organizers will dwell on the details of this year’s tattoo anniversary run. 

The Festival is carried out following the Order of the Russian President Vladimir Putin, under the aegis of the Public Council headed by Mr. Alexander Zhukov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, with the support of the Russian Ministry of Defense and the Moscow Department of Culture.
